Chicago Maritime Industry Day 2012

International Ship Masters’ Association (ISMA) Chicago Lodge #3

This event brings together area government agencies in an educational and interactive forum to provide information of importance to area mariners and marine facilities. Attendees from passenger vessel, towing vessel and maritime facility segments of the maritime community have an opportunity to hear first hand about proposed regulation changes, enforcement actions and plans for special events in the upcoming year.

The event is held in the off season to facilitate an open dialog between government officials and industry leaders. The morning session provides topics of interest to all participants. Dedicated sessions in the afternoon focus on topics of interest to specific industry segments. The day is capped off by a sponsor merchandise raffle and safety apparel demonstration (Gumby suit donning race)

US Coast Guard, Chicago MSU, US Corps of Engineers, US Maritime Administration (MARAD), National Weather Service NOAA, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Emergency Management &
Communications, Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department and others to be determined.
